Lahaina

Lahaina is located on the West Coast of Maui, and includes both Kaanapali and Kapalua. It has the largest population of locals on the island, and is famous for its hotels, food, and beaches—accounting for about 80% of the island’s tourism. Lahaina’s rich history also makes it one of most historic areas to explore on the island, particularly Front Street which features the largest banyan tree—called paniana in Hawaiian—not just on Maui but in the United States, and is one of the largest trees in the world.
