The standard rooms at the Hyatt regency are recently renovated, decorated with a calm simplicity.
The standard rooms are a decent 451 square feet and include a private lanai and deluxe bathroom.
There isn’t much to set the rooms at the Andaz Maui apart, which might not be a surprise considering they’re both Hyatt hotels. The Andaz rooms are slightly smaller, but the décor is fresh, and the bathrooms are lovely.

However, if you’re interested in renting a villa, it has to be at Andaz Maui.
Suites at Andaz Maui are fairly standard, with 850 square feet bedrooms, connected living space, and bathroom. There is more variety with the villas, which include outdoor grills and plunge pools.
Suites at the Hyatt Regency are varied, with sizes and amenities to fit a variety of needs. The décor is due for a refresh, but the spaces are more than comfortable.

The pool at Andaz Maui is four tiers of cascading infinity pools.
From the top level, there are panoramic views of the ocean and the Lehua Lounge, and the bottom levels are good for keiki looking to play.
Head to the suites for the quieter adults-only pool, but the complex is rarely full of families anyway.
The Hyatt Regency Maui, on the other hand, is home to one of the best pools on Maui. The six free-form pools are surrounded by waterfalls and feature a 150′ lava tube water slide and a rope bridge.
The only downside is the lack of an adults-only section.
What Restaurants Are At The Hyatt Regency And The Andaz Maui?
One of the highlights of Andaz Maui has to be the restaurants. Ka’ana Kitchen is a farm-to-table dining experience that serves food family style and explores the rich culinary history of the island.
Or for something a little different, try the sushi at Morimoto Maui. Even the pool snacks are good at Andaz, so grab a portion of fries from the Bumbye Beach Bar.
The Hyatt Regency keeps up the quality, with Japengo being one of the spots on the island for romance and steaks.
The Grotto Bar offers a unique drinks experience, with the cave setting being an unexpected place for traditional pub fare! There’s also a Maui staple, Ululani’s Shave Ice, on the premises.

While the Hyatt Regency Maui caters to families, Andaz Maui has a distinctly sophisticated vibe. It’s not that kids aren’t welcome, it’s just that they’ll find less to occupy themselves with at this chic resort.
If you’re after simple elegance in a charming upscale location, the Andaz Maui is sensational.
There’s also a greater variety of rooms at the Andaz, as guests have the choice of suites and villas, as well as the standard rooms.
