What Are Rooms Like At Andaz Maui?

Andaz Maui, found at the north of high-end Wailea, attracts couples and adults looking for a laid-back place to relax in a busy resort town.

The resort isn’t known for having the best rooms in Wailea, but it does have some stiff competition in the form of luxury hotels down the road.

So, what might you expect from a stay in an Andaz Maui room?

How Many Rooms Are At The Andaz Maui?

Sprawling across Mokapu beach at the top end of Wailea, Andaz Maui is a resort with a classy and modern feel. There’s no lack of space: Andaz Maui has 321 rooms, including 35 suites and 31 villas.

The villas and suites are definitely luxury accommodations, and for that reason the rooms at the Andaz Maui, a Hyatt resort, aren’t budget options either.

These are rooms with a boutique feel and a soothing neutral decoration that blends in well with the tropical surroundings.

Andaz Maui Rooms

One of the first things you’ll notice stepping into the rooms at the Andaz Maui is the simplicity of the design.

The Andaz has chosen to decorate with neutral tones and a paired back finish, leaning more into a sophisticated beach house feel rather than all-out opulence.

But don’t get us wrong, Andaz Maui is not a budget hotel.

Instead, the rooms are decorated with an eye for modern minimalism, with luxury finishes and fabrics transforming a potentially plain design into something special. The space is open, with big windows letting the golden Maui light stream in.

How Big Are The Rooms At The Andaz Maui?

Rooms at the Andaz Maui are between 380 and 420 feet. They either include a single king bed or two queen beds.

In terms of Wailea resorts, the rooms at the Andaz Maui are a little on the small side. If space is a must for you, then it’s worth booking a suite.

The rooms also lack storage space, which can be frustrating if you’ve booked a longer stay. You’re unlikely to feel cramped in an Andaz Maui room, but it’s not ideal if you like to stretch out.

The rooms at the Andaz Maui also have a private lanai. Like the rooms, these are a little on the small side. That said, they’re still a nice place to relax and to enjoy soaking up the atmosphere in a lovely section of Wailea.

Amenities At The Andaz Maui

As with the décor, the amenities at the Andaz Maui are on the simple side.

Each room comes with a mini fridge, television, desk, lanai, free internet access, and coffee making implements. There’s also valet parking, to make exploring the island easier.

It’s easy to get comfortable at Andaz Maui. The rooms might not be packed full of special features, but they certainly feel accommodating.

And, of course, as a guest at Andaz Maui, you have access to all the resort’s amenities. This includes a pool, spa, fitness center, and on-site restaurants.

Bathrooms At The Andaz Maui

The bathrooms at the Andaz Maui are enclosed in white shutters in the center of the room.

Behind the shutters lies a sophisticated black stone encased bathroom, with a rain shower that has enough space for two.

Like the rooms, the bathrooms are designed with a sleek minimalism in mind.

They don’t feel like showers to wash off the sand after a day playing on the beach. Instead, with the closing shutters and dark atmosphere, these bathrooms feel like a place for pampering.

What About The View?

With any Wailea hotel room, you have to ask what kind of view you are going to be getting.

Andaz Maui has a fantastic location overlooking Mokapu beach, and at the far end of Wailea, there are fewer resorts to block your view.

Of course, this is only true if you want to pay for an ocean view room. Andaz Maui offers the chance to book an ocean view room, partial ocean view, resort view, and garden view.

Be aware that while some rooms have ocean panoramas, others overlook the car park.

Andaz Maui Suites

The suites at the Andaz Maui are the rooms taken to the next level. The décor remains the same, prioritizing neutral simplicity over exceptional design.

But the size has increased massively, and the added amenities turn the Andaz Maui suites into a home away from home.

With 850 square feet to relax in, an Andaz Maui suite can easily accommodate longer stays. The suites combine a master bedroom with a separate living area, plus that private lanai.

If this still isn’t enough room, you can book into a premier suite. The premier suite boasts 1500 square feet of space and a connecting kitchenette. If you want a premier suite, consider booking early. There are only two on the entire property.

Do The Andaz Maui Suites Have A Kitchen?

The standard Andaz Maui suites do not include any kitchen facilities. Like the rooms, they have access to a mini bar, and there is a 24/7 room service option.

The premier suites at the Andaz Maui do come with a kitchenette. And while it might technically be a kitchenette, the marble countertops and ample space should make cooking a breeze.

Andaz Maui Villas

For a truly indulgent experience, book a stay in the villas at the Andaz Maui.

These are sprawling properties that are packed full of amenities and give you the opportunity to create your own Maui paradise.

The villas come in a range of sizes, from the (somewhat) petite 1000 square foot Oasis villa, to the luxurious 4070 square foot four bedroom king ocean villa.

The majority of villas are three bedrooms and 1900 square foot, with a residential design and access to an outdoor grill and plunge pool.

A Boutique Feel In A Wailea Resort

The immediate impression as you walk into the rooms at the Andaz Maui is that you’re staying in an expensive beach house.

The chic designs lack the luxury of some other Wailea resorts, but instead have a boutique atmosphere thanks to the classic finish.
