About Kihei Surfside

Kihei Surfside is an oceanfront condo resort with rooms overlooking Keawakapu Beach.

The rental condominiums offer comfortable accommodation on South Maui, with a location that skirts the end of Kihei, and borders the resort town of Wailea.

With 82 units in a six floor property, Kihei Surfside has a limited number of one and two-bed suites.

All the properties are ocean facing, and within walking distance of Kihei and Wailea shops and restaurants.

While Kihei Surfside is close to major resorts, this section of the coast is fairly quiet, and dodges the major crowds both to the north and south.

In South Kihei, Kihei Surfside is only a 30-minute drive from Kahului International Airport.

Kihei and Wailea are both within walking distance, or a very short drive away. Visiting Lahaina and West Maui is also easy, at roughly a 30-minute drive away.

What Are Kihei Surfside Condos Like?

The condos at Kihei Surfside are fully equipped units, available either as one or two-bed suites.

As well as a private lanai, all the units have kitchens and eating areas, cable TV, ceiling fans, and communal laundry facilities.

There’s also a small parking area, so you can keep your rental car on site.

Kihei Surfside condos are in an older property, and some of the units could use a refresh.

Compared to resorts nearby, Kihei Surfside is a better option for those on a budget.

While some interiors could be updated, the outer pool and garden areas have undergone recent redevelopment.

The outside area is fantastic with a heated swimming pool, plus a putting green, and barbecue and picnic areas.

And, of course, Keawakapu Beach just steps away.

Do Kihei Surfside Condos Have Kitchens?

Yes, all the condos at Kihei Surfside have full kitchens, including dishwashers, ovens, and stove tops, plus microwaves and refrigerators.

All condo suites come with a dining area, and have access to a private beachfront balcony.

Within the lawn area of Kihei Surfside are picnic benches and barbecue grills available for all guests.

Kihei Surfside also has laundry facilities, but these are communal, and can be found on the first floor of the resort.

Where In Kihei Surfside To Stay?

Kihei Surfside is just the one building, which makes the smaller resort a more private choice than some other condo units.

The advantage of this is that you know what kind of room you’re getting, and you won’t end up in a back building.

However, it does mean there’s less of a price difference between the units. They’re all ocean facing, and they’re all built to a similar design.

Rooms on the lower floor have better access to the gardens, but lack some privacy.

Rooms on the top floors are private, but it can be frustrating to carry all your beach essentials up six floors.

Shop around the building, to see where the offers might be.

How Far In Advance To Book Kihei Surfside For The Best Deal?

There are only just over 80 condos in the Kihei Surfside Resort, which means there are limited spaces available.

The advantage of the small number is that they all have an exceptional location.

Every property is in just one building, so they all have oceanfront views.

But that does mean you can’t leave booking until the last minute, and hope an overlooked road facing unit will still have space.

Booking early is the best way to secure a good deal at Kihei Surfside. And by early, we do mean up to a year in advance.

More condos will be available, so there’s a better chance to get a deal.

If you plan in advance, you can also plan for a longer stay. Many owners will offer better deals for those staying for longer periods.

If you don’t mind taking a risk, you can sometimes negotiate a good price for a last minute rental.

You might end up nabbing a quality condo for a fraction of the price.

However, leaving it too late can also mean all the units are booked up, and you have nowhere to go.

What Time Of Year To Visit?

Maui doesn’t experience the traditional “off-season” of other vacation destinations.

It’s a popular place year round, with only a small slump in visitor numbers around September/October and March/April.

If you want to get a good deal, this is the better time to book.

Summer and winter are traditionally busy, and the winter months are a popular time to stay at Kihei Surfside.

Why? The ocean facing destination is well positioned to view the whales that live in Maui waters from November to March.

Look Around For Deals

Kihei Surfside condos are privately owned and rented, so it’s worth looking around for different deals on the units.

In many cases, you can even contact the owner directly, in the hopes of getting a deal.

Remember, the worst they can say is no! Start looking early, and look around, and you might be able to save some money on your Maui vacation.

Speaking directly to the owner might not get you a deal now, but it might help in the future!

If you plan to return, you might be able to negotiate a reduced rate for a future trip (especially if you’ve been a good guest).

Finding The Best Deals At Kihei Surfside

Getting a deal at Kihei Surfside is all about planning.

The smaller condo unit is well located for both Wailea and Kihei (plus access to the rest of the island), and an oceanfront location means every room comes with an exceptional view.

Start planning your vacation in advance, and look around for the best prices, to get yourself a deal.
